Lions Kevin Smith: 'I'm going to play'

While Detroit Lions coach Jim Schwartz said running back Kevin Smith (shoulder) will be a game-time decision for Sunday's contest against the Chicago Bears, Smith let his feelings be known.

"I'm going to play,'' Smith said emphatically after Friday's workout.

Smith, who took part in Thursday and Friday practices, left last week's game in the third quarter because of a shoulder injury.

"It's football, so I'm sure I'll have to endure some pain, but it's good enough to go. I feel healthy enough to play at a high level,'' he said.

Smith took part in almost all the drills Thursday and Friday.

"I wouldn't go out there and do that and not play,'' Smith said.
