The Broncos are placing RB Phillip Lindsay on injured reserve with hip and knee injuries.

Needless to say, this will end Lindsay’s season with the Broncos not making the playoffs. Lindsay will finish with just 502 rushing yards in 11 games as Melvin Gordon starting taking over the lead role as the season wore and injuries riddled Lindsay all season. Lindsay is set to become a restricted free agent after the season.

Broncos RB Phillip Lindsay will not play Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers, according to Field Yates of ESPN.

Melvin Gordon will get the heavy workload, with Royce Freeman filling in for Lindsay.

Running back Melvin Gordon's driving under the influence case has been continued to Jan. 14, so Gordon will be available to play in the Denver Broncos' final three games.

Gordon, who could still face league discipline in the 2021 season, was arrested Oct. 13 in downtown Denver for DUI and was also cited for speeding -- between 25 and 39 mph over the legal limit. Gordon appeared virtually Tuesday in Denver County Court and the case was continued until next month, the story said.

Denver head coach Vic Fangio told reporters Friday that RB Phillip Lindsay will likely be questionable for Sunday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Shortly after this news, James Palmer of the NFL Network said Lindsay is expected to be good to go.
