Jaguars rule RB Chris Ivory (illness) OUT for Week 2

Jaguars running back Chris Ivory returned to EverBank Field on Thursday, but the team announced Friday both Ivory and cornerback Prince Amukamara will not play Sunday's game in San Diego.

Ivory was released from the hospital on Tuesday. According to the team, Ivory was "doing well."

Ivory released a statement Thursday:

"This past weekend was a challenging time for my family and me because of an emergency medical condition that developed while I was with my team at the hotel. I am now grateful to be back in the facility and able to refocus on the game that I love.
I want to extend a special thanks to the Jaguars medical staff, the first responders and everyone at Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville for their assistance over the past couple of days. I appreciate everyone’s sensitivity during this personal matter, and I’m ready to be back out on the field and look forward to doing so in the near future. Thank you for all for your support. I want you to know that I read each and every message and I’m thankful for them all."

“I’d rather not speak about the specifics, but it’s something that needed the attention," Ivory said. "Went in with pain and got the problem fixed.”

Ivory said the issue is resolved and shouldn't give him any more trouble.

"I did a little cardio today, and now it's day by day," Ivory said.

Fantasy Impact:

T.J. Yeldon should carry the load in what should be a high-scoring game against the Chargers. He posted 69 total yards and a touchdown on 25 touches against the Packers. The efficiency wasn’t great, but the workload was there.
