HOU QB Matt Schaub has 'significant' foot injury, Leinart to start

Matt Schaub has suffered a “significant foot injury,” according to coach Gary Kubiak.

Kubiak said Schaub will wear a boot on his ankle and then travel around the country next week seeing specialists in Indianapolis and Charlotte to determine whether he can play again this season.

Kubiak said Matt Leinart will start at Jacksonville when the Texans return from their open date.

Schaub was injured on a quarterback sneak in the second quarter during Sunday’s 37-9 victory at Tampa Bay.

He suffered what was believed to be a sprained ankle and played the rest of the game. He was barely limping in the dressing room after the game.

Fantasy Impact:

This is a big blow to the Texans. Expect the team to rely even more heavily on Arian Foster and Ben Tate at RB. Leinart will get a boost when Andre Johnson returns, but you have to assume based on Leinart's lack of success, all those on the Houston passing game could take a bit of a hit until Leinart proves otherwise.
