Bengals QB Joe Burrow doesn’t think he’ll miss any time from the finger injury he suffered during Sunday’s loss to the Chargers.
Photos of Burrow’s hand were all over Twitter Sunday, as his hand swelled like a balloon. “It’s something I’ll have to deal with,” Burrow said after the game, one in which he took a beating even without talking the hand. Burrow was sacked six times by the Chargers and threw two interceptions. The Bengals made it interesting, cutting an early 24-0 deficit to 24-22. But a Joe Mixon fumble that became a scoop and score turned the momentum back in L.A’s favor and Cincinnati never recovered, losing 41-22. The Bengals wrap up their three-game homestand next week against the 49ers.
Eagles HC Nick Sirianni replied “Yeah, of course” when asked if Jalen Hurts is still the team’s starting quarterback.
The thought of a quarterback controversy starting brewing after Gardner Minshew had a very solid performance, going 20/25 for 242 yards and two touchdowns, leading the Eagles to points on their first seven drives in Philadelphia’s 33-18 win over the Jets. Hurts was inactive with an ankle injury. He’ll have an extra week to rest as the Eagles will finally have their bye next week before hosting Washington in Week 15.
Thielen will undergo further testing to determine the extent of the injury but we can probably almost already rule him out for Week 14 as the Vikings play on Thursday against the Steelers. This is just the icing on the cake today after the Vikings lost on a last-second touchdown to give the Lions their first win of the season and further warm up HC Mike Zimmer’s seat.
