Browns WR KC Concepcion (shoulder) expected to be fine

The Colts traded away wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. to the Steelers back in March, and Tyler Warren says his absence will allow him to have an expanded role this year.

“Not having Pitt here is a big deal just because he was such a big part of our offense and a great player,” Warren said. “It opens opportunities for a lot of guys across the offense, so I think being able to be more diverse and maybe run some different routes this year that Pitt would have been running will be good for everybody here to spread the ball around more.”

Warren and QB Daniel Jones were able to work out together this offseason. Warren’s 817 receiving yards were the fifth most yards by a tight end last season, and his 474 yards after catch ranked second-highest among NFL tight ends, the story said.

It's not known when Zach Charbonnet will be ready to play or how the work will be split up once last year's co-starter returns after having ACL surgery in February. In the meantime, incumbent George Holani, first-round pick Jadarian Price and free agent addition Emanuel Wilson are all competing for their share of what's likely to be a three-player backfield committee.

According to the rest of the story, early indications suggest that Holani and Price will be the top two options, with Wilson mixing in as a powerful complement.

There are multiple battles going on this camp, starting with: Who will be the No. 2 receiver opposite Terry McLaurin? Washington probably will mix and match depending on the matchups and the game plan, but players still have to earn time -- whether it's third-round pick Antonio Williams or past draft choices Jaylin Lane and Luke McCaffrey. The Commanders also have veterans Treylon Burks, Dyami Brown and Van Jefferson.

The story went on to say the battle is not only to earn time as a No. 2 but also potentially just for a roster spot. The Commanders could still sign a wideout and Stefon Diggs remains a player of interest, according to several reports.
