Alshon Jeffery still having calf issues

When Bears receiver Alshon Jeffery missed time in training camp with a calf injury, the team insisted that there were no concerns about Week One. But that may no longer be the case.

Jeffery was not at practice today, at least for the portion of practice open to the media, which raises questions about whether he’ll be ready to go on Sunday against the Packers. Jeffery did not play at all in the preseason.

Last year Jeffery caught 85 passes and led the Bears in receiving yards (1,133) and touchdowns (10).

Fantasy Impact:

If Jeffery is out, that would be a huge blow to the Bears’ offense. Jeffery is the team’s No. 1 receiver, and with first-round draft pick Kevin White out with a shin injury, the Bears don’t have much depth behind him. If Jeffery can’t go, Eddie Royal, Josh Bellamy and Marquess Wilson would be the Bears’ top receivers for Sunday.
