The Panthers have signed running back Travaris Cadet, the team announced Monday afternoon.

He will take the roster spot opened when the Panthers cut running back C.J. Anderson.

Fantasy Impact:

As we reported in the Anderson news bit, McCaffrey has played 96-percent of the snaps so far this season, so Cadet likely won't have a huge role in this offense.

Scouting Report

Fantasy Upside

Travaris Cadet is third on the depth chart for the Bills, but could move up if something happens in the legal situation with LeSean McCoy. The veteran has managed to stick around the NFL for nine seasons, so he is considered an asset to teams he plays for—especially in the passing game, where he has 118 career receptions.

Fantasy Downside

Cadet has 49 career carries in the NFL and has served mostly as a third-down back and special teams player. There is a chance he could not make the roster.

2018 Bottom Line

Cadet has zero fantasy value unless he establishes himself as the regular third-down back—even then he might be considered nothing more than a depth option in a PPR league.
