Week 12 Revenge Games: 2 Players Out to Torch Their Ex-Teams
This week, I'd like to seek revenge on my son's friend who got him sick, as of course, he passed this lovely cold onto me. Hopefully, this is a rapid one as my nose can't take any more of the rawness. But the show must go on, as they say.
I outlined what I found from 10 years of data in the article Revenge Games: 10 Years of Data on Fantasy Breakouts vs. Former Teams, and this weekly article dives into who’s seeking retribution each week.
Before I get into this week's revenger, let’s look at how Week 11 shook out:
- Cooper Kupp - WR60 (3.8)
Tyrod Taylor @ Ravens
He gets the start this week after holding the clipboard for the last three contests, and Tyrod Taylor will go against the team he began his NFL career with in 2011. As a member of the Ravens for four seasons, Taylor played in 14 games, where he posted just 199 yards and zero touchdowns with two interceptions, with 136 rushing yards. I'm but sure how much revenge he'll be seeking this week, but people don't forget the first company they work for in their field.
Aaron Jones @ Packers
Speaking of first jobs, Aaron Jones faces the Packers this week, the team that drafted him in the fifth round in 2017. Jones was in Green Bay from 2017-2023, where he put up three fantasy RB1, three fantasy RB2, one fantasy RB3, and one fantasy RB4 seasons in half-PPR scoring per game. He's resumed the lead-back role upon return from injury in Week 8 and should have a decent outing on Sunday.
