Week 11 Revenge Games: 1 Player Out to Torch His Ex-Team
Sadly, we have just one revenge game this week. I want revenge on the NFL schedulers who somehow managed to find just one contest out of the approximately 450 skill players in the NFL against their former squad.
I outlined what I found from 10 years of data in the article Revenge Games: 10 Years of Data on Fantasy Breakouts vs. Former Teams, and this weekly article dives into who’s seeking retribution each week.
Before I get into this week's revenger, let’s look at how Week 10 shook out:
- Christian Kirk - WR91 (.08)
- Dare Ogunbowale - NA
So, not great. LOL
Cooper Kupp, WR - Seahawks
This week, we get a legit revenge game as Cooper Kupp began his career with the Rams in 2017, where he was a vital contributor until being released after last season, when no viable trade partner emerged. Kupp signed with Seattle on a three-year, $45 million contract to be their WR2 opposite Jaxon Smith-Njigba. He's only found the end zone once and has been fairly inconsistent as a Seahawk, but he is coming off a solid 74 yards on just two receptions.
The addition of Rashid Shaheed at the trade deadline could impact Kupp down the stretch, but we have to think they'll make a concerted effort to feature Kupp a bit more this week due to the retribution factor. He's flex-worthy against his former employer.
