We had a reprieve of the bye weeks in Week 12, but unfortunately, injuries don't have bye weeks. One of the major injuries to come out of Week 12 was Jaelan Phillips, who suffered a torn Achilles and will miss the remainder of the season. Another injury at the LB position, like we needed another, was to Alex Anzalone. There are two more bye weeks, and Week 13 is a big one. The teams on bye this week; Baltimore, Buffalo, Chicago, Las Vegas, Minnesota, New York Giants.

Cody Barton, LB, Washington Commanders

Check your wire to see if someone dropped Cody Barton during his I.R. stint. He was activated ahead of Thanksgiving and resumed his role as the signal-caller of the defense.

Barton played in 100% of the snaps and ended up back with the dot after Jamin Davis had worn while he was out. He actually had his best game of the season and Pro Football Focus (PFF) graded him as Washington’s best defender. He allowed just nine yards after the catch in coverage and didn’t miss on a tackle attempt.

Barton also had a TFL and two of his tackles resulted in the ball carrier being short of the first down. He also wasn’t making tackles past the line of scrimmage (LOS). He had an average depth of tackle of 1.3 yards. He finished with an 11.1% tackle rate resulting in six total tackles.

If he’s on your wire, I’d make him a top priority as it’s rare to get a three-down LB this late in the season.
