Connor Allen: 3 Week 6 Player Props I'm Betting

As the legalization of sports betting continues to explode, more and more people are diving into a new way of speculating on sports. For those just starting off, I broke down some of the basics in my gambling 101 piece. Among every category of bets, player props remain the most beatable in the long run. Last year, I hit 59% of my bets for +35 units on the season. The two years prior were much of the same, hitting 57% and 58%, respectively, of my player props for profitable seasons. I have improved every year and think that trend will continue with new tools. I’ve already fired off a handful of bets for Week 6 and will be adding more here. Week 5 Recap: It was about time. We ripped off a casual 5.85 units and are making our way back to the promised land after an abysmal start to the season. Some people would probably celebrate a five-unit week. For me, I’m mad we didn’t win even more. Damien Harris fumbled early on, got injured, and the Patriots played from behind against the woeful Texans nearly the entire game. He still wound up with 58 rushing yards and would have hit the over on his rushing yards prop if he didn't get injured late in the fourth quarter. Zach Ertz saw six targets, somehow catching just one, busting our over on 2.5 receptions. Myles Gaskin went from seeing just 23% of the snaps to a season-high 69% and five carries to Malcolm Brown’s zero. This was the absolute worst-case scenario for Gaskin under bettors as he not only saw the majority of the work but was able to rip off 25 rushing yards on those five carries against an elite-run defense.
