Week 2 NFL Betting Picks: Player Props

Week 1 Recap: It felt great to be back betting on football even if it wasn’t my most profitable week in the prop market. We got a bit unlucky in a few spots, most notably on Marlon Mack's over. He had 26 rushing yards before tearing his Achilles’ in the first half. Antonio Gibson was playing well and had two receptions in the first half and then inexplicably saw no pass-game usage afterward. With the Jaguars holding their own, Chris Thompson saw next to no usage while UDFA James Robinson broke out. We had some great wins with Mark Andrews cruising over his total, along with a last-minute nail-biter in Sam Darnold's passing yardage under. I threw in Anthony Miller over 39.5 yards as a play in the Discord chat and even though it took a while for the Bears to get going, Miller was able to help us cash the over and post a big day against a putrid Lions secondary. Even with a slightly negative Week 1, we are back on track for Week 2, with two wins on Thursday Night Football. For those who missed Austin Hooper's under and Tyler Boyd's over, be sure to join the Discord server for island game plays or any last-minute updates.

DraftKings Week 2 Player Props Bets

Jonathan Taylor Over 56.5 rushing yards (-139)

Jonathan Taylor’s production this season largely relied upon Marlon Mack’s usage and health. Mack saw a ton of usage early in Week 1 prior to tearing his Achilles’ and ending his season. It’s now Jonathan Taylor’s turn to step into the spotlight against Minnesota in Week 2. The Vikings were just thrashed by the Packers for a 66% rushing success rate allowed to the tune of 139 rushing yards on 28 carries. Taylor is expected to split carries with Hines but that’s okay. The Colts got away from what worked for them last year with a 66% pass rate against the Jaguars. I expect them to really focus on getting their running game going a week after somehow losing after not punting and racking up over 400 yards. Expect a heavy dose of the rookie in this one. This is already at 61 yards at FanDuel and I expect DraftKings to close around there, if not higher.

JuJu Smith-Schuster Over 59.5 receiving yards (-112)
