Streaming Tight Ends: Week 8 Targets
There’s no need to sugarcoat or put lipstick on a pig here, tight end is a crapfest in 2019. To top it off, this week we’ll be without Mark Andrews and Jason Witten.
As a strategy, streaming aims to find players with above-average matchups, which can hopefully translate to TE1 production for your fantasy squad.
For streaming purposes, 4for4’s Schedule-Adjusted Fantasy Points Allowed (aFPA) is a metric we rely heavily on to determine weekly matchup strength. As the season continues to progress and more data is available, aFPA becomes more and more reliable, using rolling 10-week data. Targets and efficiency metrics are also considered when choosing weekly streamers.

Dallas Goedert was my streaming star in Week 7, coming in as the fantasy TE7 on the week with 14.9 PPR points. Our goal in all this is starting tight end results. After four weeks, 4for4’s optimal streamer has scored 98.7 PPR points, which equates to TE4 numbers on the season.
In order to provide advice you can actually implement, candidates for streaming must be owned in no more than 40% of Yahoo! fantasy leagues.

Jonnu Smith (Titans) vs. Buccaneers
Delanie Walker’s ankle injury was downplayed heading into last week, and he didn’t make it a full half before being seen by the medical staff and kept out of on-field action. Smith caught all three of his targets for 64 yards in his place and makes for a fresh option in the Titans’ new-look offense.
If Walker sits out Week 8, Smith has a juicy contest on his plate, as Tampa Bay currently sits 31st in aFPA to TEs so far this season. Smith is on the waiver wire in 100% of Yahoo! leagues so grab him before someone else does.
