Week 14 vs Baltimore
Josh Allen completed almost 80% of his passes last Thursday in a very impressive win at Dallas. He was more of a game manager in this contest as he threw for 231 yards and one touchdown. He did not turn the ball over.
Allen will face the Ravens who are 3rd in aFPA to quarterbacks. Baltimore's defense has been playing very well and this will be a true test for the Bills offense.
Because of the tough matchup, Allen only ranks a QB2 for Week 14. Keep him on the bench in what should be a low scoring game.
Week 13 at Dallas
Josh Allen threw his second-fewest pass attempts of the season last Sunday and it produced only 185 passing yards and stopped a two-game streak of 200+ passing yards. Allen did throw two touchdown passes and a pick.
Allen will face the Cowboys who are sixth in aFPA to quarterbacks. The Bills will probably keep to a conservative gameplan on the road. Expect similar numbers from last week.
Keep Allen on the bench for Week 13 as he ranks a high-end QB2. Buffalo will be in a defensive struggle in Dallas on Thursday.
Week 12 vs Denver
Josh Allen had one of his best fantasy outings of his career as he threw for 256 yards and three touchdowns and also ran for another score. He has not thrown an interception since Week 5 and has been a consistent NFL quarterback most of the season.
Allen has a tough matchup against the Broncos who are ranked second in aFPA to quarterbacks. But he has shown poise against good defenses and has been solid every week.
Start Allen as a solid QB1 for Week 12. The Bills offense is playing much better this season and that's because Allen has stabilized the quarterback position.
Week 11 at Miami
Josh Allen had some strange numbers last week against Cleveland. He threw for a season-high 266 yards, but zero passing touchdowns. He actually ran for two touchdowns which helped his fantasy numbers, but not his team.
Allen will face the Dolphins for the second time this season. Miami is ranked 26th in aFPA to quarterbacks. In the first meeting, Allen threw for 202 yards and two touchdown passes.
Miami is playing much better at this time, but Buffalo should still be able to have some success. Start Allen as a solid QB1 for Week 11.
Week 10 at Cleveland
Josh Allen threw a season-low 20 passes last Sunday and ended up throwing under 200 yards for the second straight game. He threw a touchdown pass and ran for another. He has gone three straight games without throwing an interception.
Allen has a good matchup this week on the road against Cleveland who is 25th in aFPA to quarterbacks. The Bills are still focused on the running game so Allen hasn't had any breakout games, but he has been fairly consistent.
Allen ranks a high-end QB2 for Week 10. There are probably better options, but if you are forced to play him, he could still give you decent fantasy numbers, especially if he throws closer to 30 passes this week.
Week 9 vs Washington
It was mixed results for Josh Allen last week. He only completed 47% of his passes for 169 yards, but he did throw two touchdown passes for the third straight week. Overall, it was disappointing because the Eagles were struggling against the pass but Allen could never find any rhythm.
Allen will face the Redskins this week. Washington is 21st in aFPA to quarterbacks. Allen has had only two games where he has thrown for under 200 passing yards, but has not thrown for 300 yards this season. He has been consistent, but has not had a breakthrough game.
With that said, Allen has a good matchup this week and expect a bounce-back game. Start Allen as a solid QB1 for Week 9.
Week 8 vs Philadelphia
Josh Allen had a quiet day only throwing 26 passes, a season-low, against the Dolphins. He ended up with only 202 passing yards, but did throw two touchdown passes for the second straight week. Allen's numbers aren't great, but he is progressing every week and has become a factor in fantasy.
Allen has a good matchup this week against the Eagles who are 23rd in aFPA to quarterbacks. The game is in Buffalo and Philly's secondary continues to be sub-par overall.
Start Allen as a solid QB1 for Week 8. He is starting to produce stats that can help your fantasy team and we expect a good outing against Philadelphia.
Week 7 vs Miami
The main takeaway from the early season about Josh Allen is that he has improved since his rookie season. His numbers aren't great, but they are solid. He is completing 62.6% of his passes and is averaging over 220 yards per game. He has only thrown five touchdowns but has run for three more. He also has seven interceptions.
Coming off the bye week, the Bills play winless Miami who is 30th in aFPA to quarterbacks. This is a great matchup for Allen as he is in a position to put up better numbers against an inferior opponent.
Start Allen in Week 7 mainly because of the matchup. We expect Allen to have his best fantasy day of the season.
Week 5 at Tennessee
Josh Allen struggled against the Patriots throwing three interceptions and only completing 46% of his passes. He did have a rushing touchdown to salvage a poor fantasy outing. Allen now has three passing touchdowns, three rushing touchdowns and six interceptions for the season.
Allen faces the Titans who are 7th in aFPA to quarterbacks. Tennessee's defense has been good for the most part and for a struggling quarterback will present problems.
Keep Allen on the bench for Week 5 as the young quarterback is still trying to find some rhythm in the Bills offense. The fantasy numbers with the exception of the rushing touchdowns just aren't there.
Week 4 vs New England
Josh Allen's numbers have been almost identical each week. He is averaging about 250 passing yards and has completed 64% of his passes. He only has three passing touchdowns and has thrown three interceptions. Allen is averaging 35 rushing yards a game and has two rushing touchdowns.
The Bills welcome division rival New England to Buffalo. The Pats are 2nd in aFPA to quarterbacks and have not given up an offensive touchdown. Expect a defensive battle.
Allen has had a decent ranking each week, but he definitely is a QB2 for Week 4. Keep him on the bench against a very good Patriots defense as his stats won't be any better than they are now.
