The Titans waived quarterback Will Levis.

Fantasy Impact:

Levis made waves this offseason saying “there aren’t 32 quarterbacks better than me in the NFL.” While the confidence is understandable, things just never worked out in Tennessee for the former second-round pick. He missed the entire 2025 season with a shoulder injury. Mitch Trubisky will back up Cam Ward while Levis will look to restart his career elsewhere.

Titans QB Will Levis will undergo surgery on his throwing shoulder, sources say, ending his 2025 season. Surgery is July 29.

Fantasy Impact:

Levis has elected to have the procedure to ensure long-term health, based on medical opinions, one that should help him be ready for the 2026 season, Rapoport added to his post. Levis wasn't going to be the team's starter anyway, as Ward is set to take over the duties in just a few weeks. Based on our depth charts, the team will have to decide between Allen and Boyle as the backup to Ward. It's possible the Titans bring in another option as well, at least for training camp. Unless he's moved to another team, at this point it's hard to see Levis as anything but a backup even when he returns in 2026.

The Titans pulled Will Levis on Sunday and coach Brian Callahan said he's going to use the next few days to decide who his starting QB will be.

Fantasy Impact:

Levis threw three INTs in the game and was 8 for 12 for 89 yards. It was a great matchup for Levis who was going against a Bengals defense that hasn't always performed well this season. Rudolph came in and threw for 209 and two TDs as the Titans tried to rally to a win.

Sunday’s win over the Texans was Tennessee’s first since quarterback Will Levis returned from a right shoulder injury and it continued a run of improved play for the second-year player.

Levis was 18-of-24 for 274 yards, two touchdowns and an interception in the 32-27 win and he’s thrown for 748 yards, five touchdowns and two interceptions in the last three weeks.

Callahan said, via the team’s website, “But I’ve just been really happy with the way Will has progressed. He’s played winning football from that position, really over the last three weeks, and I’d like to see it continue.”

Fantasy Impact:

The story said Callahan was also asked if that kind of performance will make Levis the long-term answer at the position, "I hesitate to make any proclamations or anything like that." The Titans are likely just taking it a week at a time with Levis, but seem pleased with the steps he's made since the start of the season and especially since he's come back from his shoulder injury. Levis has at least been a decent QB2 option for multi-QB and superflex leagues.
