Saints WR Ted Ginn (knee) missed practice again Thursday. He was placed on IR. In Week 5 with Ginn out, TreQuan Smith played 67% of the snaps and posted 3-111-2 on three targets. He was playing 33%-37% of the snaps in the three previous games. Cameron Meredith played 46% of the snaps in Week 5, posting 5-71 on five targets. He was playing 31%-43% of the snaps in the two previous games. So it appears that Smith will get most of Ginn’s snaps with Ginn on injured reserve. He’s worthy of a pickup in most formats.

Saints WR Ted Ginn (knee) did not practice Wednesday. Coming off the bye week, it’s a surprise that he isn’t ready to play. If he’s out TreQuan Smith would be a Sneaky Start, though it’s a tough matchup against the Ravens.

Payton: Saints WR depth chart 'written in chalk'

Outside of Michael Thomas, the pecking order for the rest of the Saints' wide receiver corps is one of the hardest to pin down in the entire NFL. Their preseason usage has offered little guidance. And Sean Payton said after Saturday's win at the Los Angeles Chargers:

"That depth chart is like written in chalk. It's not permanent ink."

Fantasy Impact: 

Meredith is on the mend from surgery and remains a work in progress. The story said he has zero catches in the preseason. Ginn was called out twice for running the wrong route while Smith has been very exciting, but is still working on assignments and alignment. Carr, meanwhile, played ahead of Meredith in the slot and caught three passes for 38 yards.
