Broncos RB Phillip Lindsay (wrist) hopeful to play Week 17

Running back Phillip Lindsay is optimistic that the injury he suffered to his right wrist is “probably just a sprain,” he said after the Broncos’ 27-14 loss to the Raiders.

He is scheduled to undergo an MRI on Tuesday, Head Coach Vance Joseph announced after the game.

Fantasy Impact: 

Lindsay, who exited the game after a carry in the third quarter, said he would try to play in Week 17 against the Chargers, even though the Broncos don’t have playoff implications on the line. Freeman would likely have a bigger role in Week 17 if the Broncos hold out Lindsay.

Broncos RB Royce Freeman (ankle) took full practice reps again Friday. Freeman’s return will put a dent in Phillip Lindsay’s touches. Lindsay averaged 20.0 touches in the two games Freeman missed and just 12.9 touches in the seven games in which Freeman played. Lindsay is still a good RB2 option due to his overall efficiency in his touches.

Broncos RB Royce Freeman (ankle) took full practice reps Thursday after being limited Wednesday. It looks like Freeman is ready to return. He’ll siphon some touches from Phillip Lindsay.

Vance Joseph indicated Broncos should get RB Royce Freeman and WR DaeSean Hamilton back this week vs. Chargers.

Fantasy Impact: 

Freeman returned to take limited reps before Week 9's game so he was close to returning, but the team opted to sit him out through the Week 10 bye. Freeman's return likely hurts Booker's fantasy value more than Lindsay's at this point.
