Prior to Reggie Bush coming to Detroit, Mikel Leshoure had a good ’12 season, running for 798 yards and nine TDs. He also collected 34 receptions that year. He is only 24 and is a big back at 233 pounds.
After being drafted in the second round out of Illinois in ’11, Leshoure has turned into a disappointment. He missed his entire rookie season and only played in three games last year, carrying the rock just twice. Detroit is stacked at RB, with Reggie Bush and Joique Bell battling for No. 1 touches, while speedster Theo Reddick looks to have the third spot nailed down.
Two years ago Mikel looked like he was going to be pretty valuable to the Lions, but things took a nosedive for him quickly. Assuming he’s on the Detroit roster when the season begins, he may steal some short-yardage and goal line carries, but there just isn’t any reason to have him on your roster.
