Seahawks RB Chris Carson (hip) did not practice Wednesday. Carson is supposedly going to return this week, but this isn’t a good start. If he’s out, Mike Davis will almost certainly lead the Seahawks in touches. If Carson plays, he likely serves as the lead back, but it’s no sure thing.

HC Pete Carroll says Mike Davis will continue to fit in to running back rotation even once Chris Carson comes back.

Fantasy Impact: 

This looks like it's turning to a hot hand situation for the Seattle running game. Carson and Davis posted back-to-back, 100-yard rushing weeks over the team's last two games, but it now looks like it will be hard to trust either one in your fantasy lineup until there is some more clarity.

Coach Pete Carroll said he expects Chris Carson (hip) to return for Week 5 against the Rams, Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune reports.

Fantasy Impact: 

Carson was a game-time call but was a surprise scratch this past week. Davis took over as the lead back ahead of Penny and scored two TDs while going over 100 yards. It's expected Carson would slide back into the lead-back role, but it's certainly a more muddied picture with Davis now included.

On Sunday, in a mild surprise, RB Chris Carson sat out with a hip injury.

It was Mike Davis’ turn to dance.

“He found out when we were at the stadium that he would get the chance to start,” Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said. “We talked about wanting him to start because he had more background and experience than putting (rookie running back Rashaad Penny) out there without any warning at all but knowing Rashaad would play."

Fantasy Impact: 

With Carson out, fantasy owners likely expected Penny to get the call. Davis was inactive in the season opener and had just three carries for three yards in the two games since. Penny did have a nice game, running nine times for 49 yards.
