Pederson on JJAW: Expect more of him as the season goes on

Eagles head coach Doug Pederson said to expect more J.J. Arcega-Whiteside as the season goes on, according to Reuben Franks of NBC Sports Philadelphia. “He continues to be a part of the game plan," Pederson said Friday. “His role will increase I think each and every week. He’s done an outstanding job for us. … He’s always involved, and he’s going to continue to have targets each and every week.”

Arcega-Whiteside had zero targets during Sunday's loss to the Washington Football Team.

Fantasy Impact: 

The Eagles have a raw and unproven receiving group and need the former second-round pick to deliver on his draft capital. It is impossible to play him in fantasy at the moment, but it is good to here Pederson is still confident in JJAW.

Good sign for Eagles WR Jalen Reagor that he wasn't placed on Reserved/Injured.

Fantasy Impact: 

Reagor was expected to miss four weeks after a slight labrum tear that didn't require surgery. That could mean missing Weeks 1 and 2 of the regular season leaving Jackson, Ward and Arcega-Whiteside as the top-three.

Yup, with less than two weeks before the opener, Arcega-Whiteside should start in Washington on Sept. 13:

X receiver: J.J. Arcega-Whiteside

Z receiver: DeSean Jackson

Slot receiver: Greg Ward Jr.

Fantasy Impact: 

Jalen Reagor is out for Week 1 and likely out for Week 2. We had a report today that WR Alshon Jeffery could return in September but it won't be Week 1. According to the story, Arcega-Whiteside looks like a totally different player. The story said John Hightower is making a case but the writer believes it will be Arcega-Whiteside who gets the start in Week 1, and possibly Week 2 as well.

Jalen Reagor will have to wait a bit before playing in his first NFL game.

He injured his shoulder in Sunday’s practice, and Drew Davison of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports that the Eagles receiver will miss at least the opener after an MRI revealed a small tear in Reagor’s labrum.

Reagor will not require surgery, Davison adds.

Fantasy Impact: 

Reagor could also miss Week 2 which is a big loss. The Eagles will likely roll with Jackson, Ward and Arcega-Whiteside the first two weeks. TEs Ertz and Goedert could benefit the most with Reagor out.
