With the season getting away from them, the Patriots are turning to Drake Maye.

Fantasy Impact:

There were feelings among those who follow the Pats a change at QB could occur this week, and sure enough it has. As the post pointed out, Brissett has been underwhelming to say the least, and, the team has no true road games for the next three weeks, even though they will play in London in Week 7. So a change now does make some sense as the team was likely looking for the best window possible. Maye and NE will host the Texans this week and then home again in Week 8 against the Jets. The hope is Maye will bring a spark to the offense but it doesn't change the fact the Patriots offensive line is a struggle.

Week 17 vs San Francisco 49ers

Jacoby Brissett once again stepped in for a struggling Sam Howell last week, and he looked much more efficient completing 10 of his 13 passes for 100 yards and a touchdown. Brissett has looked great in mop-up duty the past two weeks, so much so that he's taken over the starting role for Week 17. He's looked so good that he could be a tempting option at QB this week, until you realize he's playing the 49ers (7th aFPA). Brissett might have a lot of pass attempts this week in a game that has blowout potential, but he's a hard option to trust in most people's championship week in fantasy. We'd likely look elsewhere for your QB needs in Week 17.
