Scouting report

ARI RB Emari Demercado - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 at Philadelphia Eagles

Emari Demercado only had two carries for 10 yards last week against the Bears, but he caught seven of eight targets for 40 yards in the passing game. He had a big play against the 49ers in the previous week and he seems to be retaining a complementary role in this offense. While it’s worth monitoring his role moving forward and looking to next season, it’s too risky to trust him in fantasy lineups right now. You can leave him on waivers.

ARI RB Emari Demercado - Week 9 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 9 at Cleveland Browns

Emari Demercado was the primary back against the Ravens last week, despite the presence of Damien Williams and Keaontay Ingram in the lineup. He finished with 20 carries for 78 yards. James Conner is going to be out for at least one more game, so Demercado should be in line for another busy day.

He’ll try to be a bit more productive with that heavy workload against a tough Browns defense that ranks third in aFPA to opposing running backs. With the likely touches he’ll get, we have him ranked as a low-end RB2, but temper expectations in a tough matchup.

Update: Demercado is out this week. Keaontay Ingram becomes an interesting option, but fantasy managers should probably stay away from this situation.

ARI RB Emari Demercado - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs. Baltimore Ravens

Emari Demercado took hold of the Arizona backfield last week, leading the way with 13 carries for 58 yards. He also added 17 yards on four receptions and now has 13 targets over his last four games. With James Conner still out, Demercado might be the best option as far as the Arizona run game is concerned.

This week, Demercado faces a Baltimore defense that ranks 19th in aFPA to opposing running backs. While the defense has been stout in other areas of the field, you can run on the Ravens, and if the Cardinals can keep the score reasonably close, Demercado could be in for a decent fantasy outing. We have him ranked as a RB3 or flex option this week.

ARI RB Emari Demercado - Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 7 at Seattle Seahawks

Emari Demercado led the Cardinals’ running back room with 43% of the team’s offensive snaps, but he only had three touches - two carries and a catch - for a total of 17 yards. Demercado is worth adding in deep leagues in case he can carve out a bigger role, but for now, he’s too risky to trust in lineups.

ARI RB Emari Demercado - Week 6 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 6 at Los Angeles Rams

Emari Demercado got the bulk of the snaps last week after James Conner went out with an injury and he may end up starting this week against the Rams. He ended up with 45 yards on 10 carries, and scored a touchdown in relief work.

It’s a tough matchup for the youngster against a Rams defense that ranks third in aFPA to opposing running backs. Also, Keaontay Ingram was hurt last week, and it sounds like he may be good to go for Week 6. Try to roster either or both of these two Arizona backs for the future, since Conner will be out for a bit, but don’t trust either this week. A questionable workload combined with a difficult matchup equals a risky start for fantasy.
