Jets RB Elijah McGuire (ankle, quadricep) practiced fully Wednesday. Last week, McGuire delivered to the tune of 71 total yards and a touchdown on 21 touches. This serves as a reminder that when we’re looking for production from strange places, just follow the volume. McGuire now has two straight games with 14.1 or more fantasy points and is primed for a third as the Packers limp into MetLife Stadium his week.

Jets RB Isaiah Crowell (toe, out) missed practice again Thursday. Elijah McGuire (ankle) took full practice reps Thursday after being limited Wednesday. With Crowell out, it’s looking likely that McGuire serves as the RB1 against the Texans. It’s a bad matchup, but McGuire should see a sizable workload after turning 20 touches into 83 yards and a touchdown against the Bills last week. Houston has yielded just 40 rushing yards per game (on 2.65 YPC) to opposing running backs in the last four games, though they’ve given up an average 42 receiving yards to the position in the same span. McGuire is more than capable as a receiver—he has 11 catches for 90 yards in five games played, so he holds more value in PPR formats than in standard this week. Trenton Cannon (toe, questionable) took limited practice reps again Thursday.

Fantasy Impact: 

There isn't a lot out there about Crowell's injury, but it very well could be the toe that had him questionable heading into the game. Both McGuire and Cannon had TDs in the game, but it was McGuire who had 17 carries for 60 yards and added three catches for 23 more yards.
