The Colts made a change in the backfield, as they look for some experience there.
The team announced a series of transactions Monday, which included placing just-acquired running back Donta Foreman on injured reserve, and signing veteran running back Charcandrick West.
The Colts had recently claimed Foreman from the Texans but he's going on IR for an "undisclosed" reason, according to other sources. West has been back and forth with the Chiefs and is mostly considered a third-down back.
The move makes sense because West knows the playbook and will fit right in, filling the void created on the roster by Kareem Hunt. Rapoport went on to say his understanding is Anderson had a really good workout and is ready if needed. HC Andy Reid said he's ready to use a committee approach at RB, so West could get some carries but probably won't be fantasy relevant. West will likely be used more in the passing game.
