Broncos place TE Jeff Heuerman on IR, promote TE Temarrick Hemingway

The Broncos promoted practice squad tight end Temarrick Hemingway to the active roster Tuesday and placed tight end Jeff Heuerman on injured reserve.

Heuerman sustained three broken ribs and a bruised lung in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s win over Pittsburgh when he was hit by safety Sean Davis following a reception.

Fantasy Impact:

Hemingway was signed to the Broncos’ practice squad Oct. 10. He appeared in eight games for the Los Angeles Rams in 2016. Hemingway joins LaCosse and Parker as the team's third tight end. LaCosse figures to be the team's pass-catching TE.

LaCosse is likely to take over as the main pass-catching TE, while Parker is considered more of a blocker. LaCosse may be considered a risky play, especially this time of year as the playoffs approach. But given the position is a struggle for many this season, LaCosse is worth monitoring, especially coming off a 3-34-1 line against the Steelers.
