Scouting report

by Pete Behnke

ATL RB Brian Hill - Week 8 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 8 vs. Seattle Seahawks
Hill finished Week 7 with five rushing attempts for 11 yards and two receptions for 14 yards. Hill received playing time because Devonta Freeman was ejected for throwing a punch in the third quarter and Ito Smith suffered a concussion. Smith has been ruled out this week, which makes Hill the primary backup. Seattle is 12th-best against running backs, per our signature schedule-adjusted fantasy points allowed metric. 4for4’s rankings expert, John Paulsen, has Hill ranked as the half PPR RB49.

ATL RB Brian Hill - Week 17 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 17 at Tampa Bay Bucs

Brian Hill rushed eight times for 115 yards in the Falcons’ Week 16 win over the Panthers. With Tevin Coleman leaving the game early due to a groin injury, Hill capitalized on his opportunities. He did lose a second-half fumble and missed his lone target in the passing game but was otherwise excellent as Atlanta won its second game in a row. With Coleman not practicing this week, Hill could be the workhorse for Sunday when the Falcons visit the Bucs. Ranked as our RB45 for now, Hill will be ranked higher if Coleman can’t go and will be an inexpensive DFS option for Week 17.

ATL RB Brian Hill - Week 16 Fantasy Football Outlook

Week 16 at Carolina Panthers

Rookie Ito Smith underwent knee surgery this week and is done for the season. That means Brian Hill will back up Tevin Coleman when the Falcons travel to Charlotte to take on the Panthers. While Smith did have some FLEX appeal, we recommend staying away from Hill, especially with Coleman coming off a big game in Week 15 (11 carries, 145 yards, 1 TD). The Panthers are a bad matchup and Coleman figures to see most of the touches. Hill ranks as our RB58 for Week 16.
