Chiefs QB Matt Cassel (illness) did not practice Wednes...

Chiefs QB Matt Cassel (illness) did not practice Wednesday. It's been learned that Cassel missed practice to undergo an appendectomy Wednesday morning. Cassel is expected to "return to work this week," but it's no sure thing that he will be available for Sunday. Brodie Croyle would get the start against the Chargers if Cassel can't go. The Chiefs have indicated there's a 50% chance of Cassel suiting up. The Kansas City Star is speculating that Cassel could be lost for "at least two weeks." Don't expect a huge drop off in production if Croyle gets the start. In 9 games with Croyle starting, WR Dwayne Bowe has 43 receptions, 511 yards & 4TDs.
