WR Calvin Johnson's knee still bothering him

One thing is clear: Garrett Wilson is a focal point of the passing attack. The Jets and offensive coordinator Frank Reich want to get him the ball. He’ll see his targets.

The story went on to describe how Wilson is more of a player who gets to an area on the field, then gets open – that’s his superpower. As a result, the story went on, it takes a little bit for a quarterback and receiver like that to get on the same page. But, the story added, Smith and Wilson are starting to find that chemistry in practices and their relationship continues to grow.

The Jets gave Breece Hall a contract extension this offseason, and it looks like they plan on featuring him more prominently as their lead back this season.

The story pointed out that HC Aaron Glenn, going into his first season, made it a point to stress a backfield committee, implying a near-even split between Hall, Allen and Davis. The story added that all three will likely be involved, but it's been clear the focus is on Hall. What could be even better news is Hall has looked good this summer, the story said, as has Allen.

Mike McDaniel on the running back share between Omarion Hampton, Kimani Vidal and Keaton Mitchell:

“Bad news, fantasy owners. Good news is I see all three of those guys producing at a very high level. Bad news is I can’t tell you which games those are.”

The post went on to say McDaniel added he’ll probably use all three every game, with the workload depending on the opponent and “hot hand.” It's not the first time it's been reported the Chargers may go with a committee at the position. Hampton is probably still the back to own and comes with the best draft capital at least. He's coming into his second season after missing time as a rookie. Vidal filled in nicely for him at times last season. In a nine-week span between Week 6 and Week 15, Vidal had over 12 carries in seven of those weeks. Mitchell is coming from Baltimore where he burst on the scene in 2023 producing several big plays over eight games before being injured most of 2024. Last season, Mitchell averaged just over five touches a game and could see a similar role with the Chargers.
