Week 4 outlook 'not optimistic' for Rob Gronkowski

This week, Gronk has participated in practice on a limited basis both Wednesday and Thursday. His status for Sunday is still to be determined. Per a league source, however, the outlook currently is not optimistic.

Gronkowski is listed as having both arm and back injuries. It had been believed that the back surgery he underwent in June was the primary impediment, but some have reported that the twice-broken and then infected forearm is the bigger problem.

Fantasy Impact:

The Patriots play on Sunday night so owners should have a Plan B ready to go in case Gronk can't play. Charles Clay plays on Monday night and is probably the best readily available option that could fill in for Gronk owners who want to wait and see if he plays. Otherwise, we're recommending Gronk owners go with whatever options they have available on their respective rosters.
