Ty Montgomery doesn't return after ankle injury

Packers wide receiver Ty Montgomery suffered an ankle injury during the first half against the Chargers and was out for the remainder of the game. The X-ray on Montgomery's ankle came back negative, a source told NFL Media's Rand Getlin.

Fantasy Impact:

The Packers have a bye in Week 7 and it comes at a good time as Green Bay will look to get Montgomery and Davante Adams healthy at wide receiver.

The 49ers and QB Brock Purdy agreed to terms on a five-year, $265 million contract extension.

Purdy gets $181M in total guarantees, including $165.05M in the first three new years of a deal that runs through 2030.

Fantasy Impact:

George Kittle, and now, Purdy have received huge extensions this offseason, locking in two ultra-important pieces of their offense. Purdy should continue to be considered a fringe QB1/2 for fantasy purposes.

Ravens and RB Derrick Henry agree to two-year, $30M extension

Derrick Henry and the Baltimore Ravens reached agreement today on a two-year, $30 million extension that includes $25 million fully guaranteed over the next two seasons. It is the largest deal in NFL history for a running back over 30 years old.

Henry gets a pay raise after an incredible first season in Baltimore, racking up over 1,900 yards and 16 touchdowns throughout a dominant regular season. In 4for4's initial run of rankings, the vet is currently earmarked as the RB3.

Saints QB Derek Carr is retiring

New Orleans Saints quarterback Derek Carr is retiring, the team announced Saturday.

The team said that Carr had a labral tear and degenerative rotator cuff damage to his right throwing shoulder.

Fantasy Impact:

It has long been expected that Carr could have problems getting on the field in 2025, but those problems clearly ran deeper. Shough and Rattler will battle it out for the QB1 role, and it's looking like a safe bet that Shough will handle a vast majority of the starts this season.
