Steelers indicate more work possible for RB Jaylen Warren

While the Steelers aren't changing their collective mindset, Tomlin acknowledged running back Jaylen Warren may continue to see his role in the offense increase during the second half of the season.

"He's a quality back this made some plays," Tomlin said of Warren. "We'll keep giving him an opportunity to do so. And maybe he'll write that script [as a featured back]."

The undrafted rookie, who earned a spot on the team's initial 53-man roster following an impressive training camp, ran 29 times for a 5.3 yards-per-carry average during the season's first eight games, the story said. Tomlin was recently asked about Harris possibly being injured and beat reporter Chris Adamski tweeted Tomlin replied: "To what degrees, I don't know, he's playing so obviously he's healthy enough to play." There's been talk for a few weeks that Warren could get more work, but coming off a bye would seem like a good time to actually do it. Warren had 9 touches in a blowout loss to Philly and also had 9 in a blowout loss to the Bills, the most he's had in a game.
