Randy Moss owners hope Rusty Smith gets him the ball

Rusty Smith, a sixth-round pick from Florida Atlantic, completed 3-of-9 passes for 62 yards with one interception after replacing Vince Young in the third quarter. He had a 52-yard completion to Nate Washington.

Smith's 36-yard touchdown pass to Randy Moss was nullified by a pass-interference call against Moss.

"I was sprinting down the field because I was so pumped," Smith said of the pass to Moss. "My heart was racing after that play."

Smith targeted Moss on several throws. Young threw only one ball toward Moss even though Titans Coach Jeff Fisher said: "Randy was open early in the game."

Said Smith: "It's not so much that I was looking for him. It's just that the coverages dictated for him to be open."

Fantasy Impact:

Smith did target Moss noticeably more when he got in there, and why not? When you're a third string QB it can make you look good when you throw to your best WR. Smith will get the start this week with Young in the doghouse and Collins not ready. Moss owners can only hope Smith is looking for him in what is a matchup against one of the statistically-worst secondaries in the league.
