Quentin Johnston suffers concussion, taken to hospital as precaution

Chargers HC Jim Harbaugh told reporters Saturday WR Quentin Johnston suffered a concussion during Saturday’s game against the Rams.

Fantasy Impact:

Johnston took a hard shot in the first quarter and his head hit the field hard. He was taken out on a medical cart and eventually taken to a local hospital as a precaution. Johnston will now have to clear concussion protocol before returning to play. KeAndre Lambert-Smith, who filled in for Johnston, also went to the locker room with an injury.

Browns say it’s ‘not much of a decision’ to keep four quarterbacks

Browns general manager Andrew Berry told reporters Saturday it’s “not much of a decision” in regards to keeping four quarterbacks on the roster.

Fantasy Impact:

“We have a room that we like all the guys in there,” Berry said. “We don’t really see that as a problem. We more see it as an opportunity.”

The Browns had already announced Joe Flacco as the starter for Week 1 against the Bengals. Even with Kenny Pickett missing time, he seemed likely to stick around and the Browns didn’t give the sense they were going to cut either rookie quarterback in Dillon Gabriel or Shedeur Sanders. It’s not out of the realm of possibility that all four quarterbacks start at least one game this season and that their quarterback of the future is somewhere playing on Saturdays this season.

Commanders hold out Bill Croskey-Merritt from preseason finale

Commanders RB Bill Croskey-Merritt was among 33 players listed as not playing in Saturday’s preseason finale against the Bengals.

Fantasy Impact:

Safe to say the Commanders have some kind of plan for their 7th-round rookie. The trade of Brian Robinson Jr. to the 49ers made that point pretty clear. This move almost certainly makes that crystal clear as the team is keeping their starters healthy for the regular season, which starts in a little over two weeks against the Giants. BCM will work in tandem with Austin Ekeler with Chris Rodriguez perhaps sprinkled in, but Croskey-Merritt has quickly gained steam as a solid mid-round pick in fantasy drafts.

Commanders trade RB Brian Robinson to 49ers for sixth-round pick

Trade: Commanders are trading RB Brian Robinson to the 49ers in exchange for a 2026 sixth-round pick, sources tell ESPN.

Related Players: Austin Ekeler, Jacory Crosky-Merritt, Christian McCaffrey, Isaac Guerendo

Fantasy Impact:

This is awful news for Guerendo drafters, but with all the injuries to the 49ers' running back room, they needed a dependable body in the room. This dings McCaffrey a little bit, but his passing-game involvement should be enough to secure another top-10 (or higher finish), while Robinson will pick up most of the slack and deliver as a FLEX play in tough weeks.

Back in Washington, Crosky-Merritt should be boosted out of low-end RB4 territory into an RB3 while Ekeler has some sneaky upside to finish in the same range.
