Hasselbeck suffers injury versus 49ers

Seahawks quarterback Matt Hasselbeck was taken to the locker room with a rib injury after taking a hard hit late in the second quarter against the 49ers.

The Seahawks had a 2nd-and-goal at the San Fran four-yard line when Hasselbeck scrambled to the right and dove for the end zone. As Hasselbeck fell short of the goalline, 49ers linebacker Patrick Willis struck him in the back with 26 seconds left until half.

Hasselbeck remained on the ground for several minutes as the trainers attended to him. Hasselbeck showed obvious signs of pain as he made his way to the locker room under his own power.

Backup quarterback Seneca Wallace came into the game and threw a one-yard touchdown pass to Julius Jones on the next play. Wallace took over the QB duties in the second half, as Hasselbeck remained in the locker room.
