Damien Williams will not play Sunday

Chiefs RB Damien Williams (ribs) is out of Sunday’s game against the Patriots.

Fantasy Impact:

Williams’ injury helped lead to the signing of Spencer Ware with Darrel Williams on injured reserve. Ware will work behind LeSean McCoy and Darwin Thompson and the Chiefs have been mixing the backs, so it’s a hard gauge as to how Andy Reid will continue to run the backs. McCoy’s workload has been being capped and Thompson is the pass-catching back. As always with Andy Reid, it’s an interesting backfield.

Joe Judge: Appear to have 'missed' the 'worst-case scenario' with Kenny Golladay

Giants head coach Joe Judge told reporters that WR Kenny Golladay is seeing a doctor to determine the extent of his hamstring injury and that he appeared to have 'missed' the 'worst-case scenario.'

“In terms of a worst-case scenario, I think we’ve kind of avoided that, in terms of dealing with it," said Judge. "But we’ll see what the timetable looks like. Injuries are different for every player, so we’ll have to see how his body responds and make sure we do right by him.”

Fantasy Impact:

Golladay has had soft tissue injuries in the past and is coming off a prolonged absence in 2020 while with the Detroit Lions. It is realistic to not expect Golladay on the practice field for a large chunk of August.

Olamide Zaccheus 'clear favorite' to win for Falcons WR3

Falcons WR Olamide Zaccheus has been the standout wide receiver for the Falcons with Calvin Ridley and Russell Gage leading the depth chart, according to Kevin Knight of 'The Falcoholic' of SB Nation. "Zaccheaus has also notably been lined up both in the slot and outside, so there’s a chance he could be the starting outside WR opposite Calvin Ridley when the Falcons are in 12 personnel packages," wrote Knight.

Fantasy Impact:

The last line is important to note as Russell Gage has worked best from the slot. Zaccheus could also line up opposite another Falcons receiver if Atlanta wants Ridley to get looks inside away from potential shadow coverage. The Falcons may have to throw more unless RB Mike Davis can impress similarly as he did with Carolina in 2020. That could mean more snaps and targets for Zaccheus after showing signs of talent when injuries took away some of Atlanta's receiver depth last season.

Joe Burrow, Bengals offense struggling

Bengals QB Joe Burrow has been struggling to connect with receivers so far in camp, according to Jay Morrison and Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic. "Throws that felt like layups last year are dropping harmlessly away from receivers or easily broken up by multiple defenders. There might be a multitude of reasons for the struggles, but this has been ugly.

Burrow also appeared to lift his left leg - the one that he had ACL and MCL surgery on - to keep it from getting hit during one play.

Fantasy Impact:

Morrison and Dehner speculate that Burrow may be thinking about getting hit, which is natural coming off major surgery but also a concern that could plague the second-year quarterback as he tries to get ready for the season.

Offensive continuity is more likely to improve as camp progresses, but Burrow's potential concerns with his left leg is a must-watch in the coming weeks.
