Saints QB Taysom Hill (foot) says last few days 'really encouraging'

Taysom Hill said Tuesday he's been dealing with a partial tear of the plantar fascia, which resulted in him being active but a nonparticipant in the last two games. The Saints quarterback said he "felt pretty good" this week and that the last couple days have been "really encouraging."

The Saints have reportedly been giving Hill the first-team quarterback reps in practice this week, so HC Sean Payton seems as if he is preparing him to start Thursday if he's good to go. "I think so," Hill said when asked if he'll be ready to play Thursday. "That's kind of the question mark. It's hard to simulate a game in practice. The last couple weeks I would have been limited if I had to go in and play," the story said.

Eagles also preparing QB Gardner Minshew to start Week 13

The Philadelphia Eagles may not have Jalen Hurts available for Sunday's game against the New York Jets, as the starting quarterback is battling a sore ankle suffered in a Week 12 loss to the New York Giants. Coach Nick Sirianni said he'll provide an update on Hurts later in the week, but offensive coordinator Shane Steichen revealed Tuesday the team is preparing Gardner Minshew to start in case Hurts is unable to go.

Fantasy Impact:

Philadelphia does have its bye coming up next week, so giving Hurts a week to heal up that ankle for the stretch run is an option. There will be more as the week goes on when it comes to Hurts' status against the Jets in Week 13. Like the Eagles, Hurts fantasy owners may want to have a backup plan just in case.

Giants QB Daniel Jones (neck) week-to-week, expected to miss Week 13

Giants QB Daniel Jones is considered week-to-week because of his neck strain and backup Mike Glennon is now expected to start Sunday against Miami, sources tell me.

Fantasy Impact:

The news of this injury first broke Monday evening but has now been updated again to say Jones is likely out for Week 13 against the Dolphins. It's a big hit to a team that knocked off the Eagles and at least mathematically kept themselves in the playoff hunt. Jones' injury occurred on the second play from scrimmage last week against the Eagles when he got hit sliding on a zone-read keeper. He finished the game, but now is expected to miss at least one game, the tweet went on to say.
