Bengals running back Joe Mixon will not practice Wednesday after injuring his foot in Week 6.
Mixon was able to return to the game in Week 6 after leaving in the first half with a foot issue. That would seem to indicate that the injury was not serious, although Mixon not practicing at all on Wednesday is not a good sign. The Bengals have not provided much detail about Mixon's foot, meaning it is hard to gauge his Week 8 status at the moment. Check back Thursday for an update on his practice status. Giovani Bernard would see a large usage boost if Mixon is ruled out.
The Eagles expect wide receiver Alshon Jeffery to return from foot and calf injuries in Week 8 against Dallas.
Jeffery will miss Week 7 as he recovers from a calf strain in addition to the foot issue he's dealt with all season. It will be interesting to see if Jeffery has anything left in the late stages of an injury-riddled career, but the Eagles are in dire need of weapons on offense so his role will be something to monitor once he returns.
Chiefs Head Coach Andy Reid told reporters on Wednesday that newly-signed running back Le'Veon Bell will practice this week and has a chance to play Week 7 against the Broncos.
Bell's role in Week 7 is vital information for fantasy managers who drafted Clyde Edwards-Helaire. Even if Bell plays this week, it is hard to imagine him being more than a change-of-pace back behind Helaire in his first game as a Chief. Even so, Bell's ability in the passing game and at the goal line means this backfield will in all likelihood be a two-way committee in short order, with Helaire getting a downgrade in his fantasy projections as a result. Bell will be tough to trust in fantasy until we see how Kansas City decides to deploy him.
