Andy Dalton (flu) returns to practice

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton is feeling better, thank you very much. He was back on the practice field today after a bout with a nasty bug.

“I feel great. It was a tough day [Wednesday], but I feel a lot better than I did. I’ll be out there practicing and be ready to go,” Dalton said (via the Cincinnati Enquirer’s Joe Reedy). “It was just a one-day thing. It was kind of out of nowhere. But I feel good now, so that’s a good thing.”

Dalton sought treatment, receiving fluids via IV, at a hospital for his flu-like symptoms after missing practice Wednesday and, Coach Marvin Lewis said in a Sirius interview, spent the night “by the sink and toilet.” Dalton did his best to prepare for the Bengals’ wild-card game Saturday against the Houston Texans and has a bit of a break because the Bengals played the Texans less than a month ago. (Houston won 20-19 on Dec. 11 in Cincinnati.)
