Little more than a month after receiver Dez Bryant said he had no interest in playing football, he’s planning a comeback.
Bryant tells Jane Slater of the NFL that he’s hoping to return to the NFL in the middle of October.
Bryant tore an Achilles tendon in his first practice with the Saints last year. The next question becomes whether someone is interested in signing Bryant. There’s much less of a sense that teams are clamoring for him this year, but that’s possibly because there has been no indication that he’s coming back. Now that he’s in play, teams can start exploring whether to try to land him, the story said.
NO WR Dez Bryant - Week 10 Fantasy Football Outlook
Week 10 at Cincinnati Bengals
The Saints signed Dez Bryant to a one-year contract earlier this week and the veteran will serve as depth for a team that is banged-up at the receiver position. With Ted Ginn Jr. and Cameron Meredith on injured reserve, Bryant will serve as the team’s No. 3 receiver behind Michael Thomas and Tre’Quan Smith. It could take a few weeks for Bryant to get up to speed in Sean Payton’s offense but he has WR3 appeal down the road – just not this week. Stash him but don’t play him when the Saints visit the Bengals on Sunday.
