Week 4 Fantasy Football Sneaky Starts & Sleepers
All but the luckiest fantasy owners at some point need to find the proverbial diamond in the rough—a waiver wire or bench player capable of putting up some points in a pinch. This weekly feature is dedicated to that part of fantasy football. It’s not pretty, but it’s part of the game.
As of Week 4, our signature strength-of-schedule metric, adjusted fantasy points allowed, is updated for 2026 data, so the rankings you see can be trusted to a degree.
Quarterbacks
Bryce Young, Panthers (vs. DET, 31)
Detroit has been fleeced by opposing quarterbacks through three weeks, allowing an average of 326 passing yards and 3.0 passing touchdowns. Bryce Young just threw 48 times for 291 yards and a score against Cleveland, and I expect the volume to be there again with the Lions coming to town.
C.J. Stroud, Texans (vs. DAL, 30)
The Houston running game may be in trouble after David Montgomery and Woody Marks combined for 48 yards on 16 carries against an Indianapolis defense that had been gashed on the ground in the first two weeks. If the Texans can’t run, they’ll have to throw, and Dallas is allowing an average of 208 yards and 2.3 touchdowns to opposing quarterbacks. C.J. Stroud might get Nico Collins back from a hamstring injury.
