9 Fantasy Football Stash Candidates Ahead of Week 4
Three weeks into the season, we're finally getting enough usage data to separate actual role changes from one-week box-score noise.
That's where we want to live with this column. We're looking for players whose snaps, routes, targets, or backfield involvement are moving in the right direction before the fantasy production and rostership completely catch up. Injuries have also opened several new paths to playing time this week, giving us a few more speculative options than we had entering Week 3.

Malik Washington, WR - Dolphins (20%)
We've been patient with Malik Washington, and Week 3 gave us another reason to keep doing it. Washington ran a route on 83.3% of Miami's passing plays while drawing 10 targets, good for a 27.8% target share. He also accounted for 30% of the team's first-read opportunities and finished with five catches for 56 yards.
The larger sample looks even better. Through three games, Washington owns an 86% route rate, 26.7% target share, and 25% targets-per-route-run rate. He's generated 43.4 expected fantasy points while actually scoring only 27.1. That gap won't necessarily close all at once, but it's exactly the type of profile we're looking to stash.
The Dolphins also now have to reshape the offense after losing De'Von Achane for the season. Washington doesn't automatically inherit Achane's touches, of course, but Miami just lost one of its highest-volume offensive pieces while Washington was already commanding more than one-quarter of the targets.
At 20% rostered, there's still time to get ahead of the production.
