IDP Waiver Wire Week 2: Top Pickups & Adds

After months of anticipation and speculation, we've finally witnessed at least 60 minutes of football from each team. Some things that we believed coming into the season were proven to be true, while others likely left you scratching your head.

There's always a ton to unpack after Week 1, but the edge comes from filtering out what's signal and what's noise.

I always advise being aggressive on the waiver wire early in the year. I don't like to overreact to just one week, but anchoring to priors instead of seeing what actually happened is even more dangerous.

Week 1 brought us a few impactful injuries to universally owned players, so that opens up even more players for consideration this week.

I'm not listing Jacob Rodriguez (MIA) or Josiah Trotter (TB) here because we were already all over those two as Week 1 starters and contributors. If they're available in your league, go fix that first and then read the rest of the names for Week 2.

Don't overreact to a slow performance from one of your team's anchor IDP'ers, but don't be afraid to turn over some of the players at the bottom of your roster if someone with more appealing usage or alignment is available to scoop up.

IDP Waiver Wire Week 2

Defensive Line

David Bailey - New York Jets

The rookie edge defender is likely rostered in most deep leagues, but if he's not, he's worth an add. Bailey's hovering right around that coveted 70%+ snap threshold, and while he won't get to play against the Titans every week, I'm encouraged to see this snap rate right out of the gate.

Dre'Mont Jones - New England Patriots

Not only did Dre'Mont Jones play a lot in Week 1 against Seattle (85% snap rate), but he also played well, finishing with four tackles and a sack with a 26.1% pressure rate. Four of Jones's six pressures were quick pressures (less than 2.5 seconds), which is a great indicator for future sacks moving forward.
