Week 10 Sneaky Starts & Sleepers

All but the luckiest fantasy owners at some point need to find the proverbial diamond in the rough—a waiver wire or bench player capable of putting up some points in a pinch. This weekly feature is dedicated to that part of fantasy football. It's not pretty, but it's part of the game.

As of Week 4, we are now using 2025 data for our Hot Spots reports and aFPA rankings. It will continue to update as the season progresses, and we’ll start using a rolling 10-week window in Week 12. Remember, the higher the number, the better the matchup.

Let’s see who’s sneaky this week.

Quarterbacks

Jared Goff, Lions (@ WAS, 27)

Normally, I recommend starting Jared Goff in home matchups and only in favorable road matchups, and this week’s road matchup against the Commanders certainly qualifies. Washington has yielded an average of 269 yards and 2.11 touchdowns per game, along with a healthy 8.85 yards per attempt allowed. In his last two “green” matchups, Goff threw for 334/5 against the Bears and 258/3 against the Bengals.

Sam Darnold, Seahawks (vs. ARI, 18)

Sam Darnold has quietly been a steady fantasy starter this season, currently sitting as the QB13 overall. He’s coming off a huge Week 9 outing, throwing for 330 yards and four touchdowns against the Commanders, and has now tossed 11 scores over his last four games. The Seahawks added another weapon, Rashid Shaheed, to Darnold’s arsenal. The matchup this week is solid as well—the Cardinals have allowed 247 passing yards and 1.13 touchdowns per game to opposing quarterbacks.
