The Safest Player in Every Round of your Fantasy Draft

Chasing after upside is a huge part of fantasy football, but at the same time, it’s important not to fly too close to the sun. In this article, I’ll be taking a step back from the hype trains of the off-season and identifying the safest player in every round of fantasy drafts this year. These are the guys that will, to quote Moneyball, just get on base for your team each and every week.

Round 1: WR CeeDee Lamb, Cowboys

It’s hard to find any flaws with CeeDee Lamb this season. He is the clear top receiver attached to a great quarterback on what should be one of the most effective passing offenses in the league, and has put up excellent fantasy production in years past. Lamb may not finish as the overall WR1 if George Pickens steals a few touchdowns or Dak Prescott gets banged up again, but his guaranteed volume and lofty reception totals give him a very high floor.

Round 2: RB Josh Jacobs, Packers
