All but the luckiest fantasy owners at some point need to find the proverbial diamond in the rough—a waiver wire or bench player capable of putting up some points in a pinch. This weekly feature is dedicated to that part of fantasy football. It's not pretty, but it's part of the game.

Quarterbacks

Jared Goff, Lions (vs. SEA)

Jared Goff averaged 275 yards and 2.56 touchdowns in nine home games last season. That works out to about 20.6 fantasy points per game. Only four quarterbacks averaged more than that last season. Goff has been a solid QB1 at Ford Field, and he shouldn’t get much resistance from a Seattle defense that let Matthew Stafford throw for 334 yards (and 8.8 YPA) without Cooper Kupp.
