Today’s NBA Player Prop Bets (February 1, 2023)

Fred VanVleet Over 20.5 Points (-118 at FanDuel)

In the last eight games, Fred VanVleet has looked more like himself when shooting the ball, which has resulted in higher point totals and progressively more shots that have led to high-end outcomes.

In the last eight games, VanVleet has gone over this number six times and is averaging 25.6 points. Before this recent stretch, VanVleet was only shooting 37.2% from the field on the season on 15.2 shots and 32.4% on 8.4 attempts from deep. In this eight-game hot streak, VanVleet is up to 47% on 18.5 shots and 40% on 9.3 attempts from behind the arc. With the Raptors finally being healthy, there has been stability in the starting lineup and that leads to some consistency in role and volume for each player. That has benefitted VanVleet in this stretch.

The matchup against the Jazz should do nothing to slow him down either. Utah is allowing the most points to point guards over the last two weeks and the second-most threes. The Jazz are allowing plenty of attempts from above the break in general, the fourth-most in the last two weeks and VanVleet takes 43% of his shots from that area of the court.

Risk: 1.18 units on FanDuel to win 1 unit. (Playable to -125)

Alt Line: Fred VanVleet 25+ Points (+200 at FanDuel)

Of the six games VanVleet covered the regular number, he had 25+ in five of those six games (24 in the other). With the hot shooting, the volume he is getting, and the plus-matchup, there is plenty of reason to play a higher-end outcome as well.

Risk: .5 units on FanDuel to win 1 unit.
