Super Bowl DFS Single Game Breakdown: Chiefs vs Buccaneers

To incorrectly use a line from an Anti-Flag song, “This is the end for you, my friend.” Super Bowl 55 brings us to the end of the DFS and NFL seasons with a GOAT matchup between Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. Brady and company are looking to become the fourth team to win each playoff game on the road en route to a Super Bowl victory. The Chiefs are looking to be the first back-to-back champions since Brady’s New England Patriots did so in 2003-04. Tampa is also the first team to play the Super Bowl at their home stadium.

There are many players to watch, get excited for, and investigate ahead of Sunday. Creating the best lineup for the final Showdown game of the season will be as tough as any week leading up to the big game.

It is vital to remember that single-game slates are not simply a “max salary, play as many big names as possible, and submit” format, especially in larger tournament fields. We need to identify players that can be pieces in their offense’s success, whether in the lead or trailing, as well as the players that could be focal points in a neutral game script. The ability to then take those players and identify which will succeed in the single-game format will put us in a better position to succeed as daily fantasy players.

Remember that the captain spot is different on DraftKings than on FanDuel. The captain spot on DraftKings delivers fantasy points and prices multiplied by 1.5. The MVP spot on FanDuel will score at the same rate but without the increased pricing for the player slot. All flex positions score normally.

Vegas Total and Spread

The Chiefs are -3 road favorites (literally) in a game with a 56.5-point game total. Kansas City has a 29.75-point implied team total, while Tampa Bay has an implied team total of 26.75 points.
