Sneaky Starts: Week 14

All but the luckiest fantasy owners need to find the proverbial diamond in the rough at some point – a waiver wire or bench player capable of putting up some points in a pinch. This weekly feature is dedicated to that part of fantasy football. It's not pretty, but it's part of the game.

Here are the Sneaky Starts for Week 14:

Quarterbacks

Andy Dalton, Bengals (@ CLE)
Sunday’s weather in Cleveland is a question mark, but if we aren’t looking at blizzard conditions, then Dalton should be a quality start against the Browns. He proved capable of producing without A.J. Green over the last two weeks, posting 615 total yards and three scores combined against the Ravens and Eagles. The Browns have been generous against the pass this year, yielding 19.3 fantasy points per game through the air. Dalton is also able to add some FPs on the ground.

Colin Kaepernick, 49ers (vs. NYJ)
Kaepernick was a disaster against the Bears, but it looks like he’ll draw another start this week against the Jets, who are #19 in QB aFPA. Prior to last week’s performance, Kaepernick was producing at a QB1 level. He’s risky, but he has a ton of upside given his ability to run the ball.

Trevor Siemian, Broncos (@ TEN)
If Siemian is able to play – he’s dealing with a foot injury – he’ll be an intriguing start against a very shaky Titans pass defense that is currently last in QB aFPA.
