Streaming Quarterbacks: Week 14 Targets

Last week we hit big on two of our three streamers. Jay Cutler scored a very bad 7 points, but Tyrod Taylor and Alex Smith had 29 and 24, putting each inside the week’s top tier of QBs.

For the year, our streaming QBs are averaging 16.7 fantasy points per week, finishing inside the top-twelve in roughly half their games. Before waivers run this week, there are several strong options available in more than half of all leagues. With playoffs now in view, this is the time to strike. See if you can add a strong streaming option with favorable upcoming matchups.

Now, on to Week 14. As always, our primary focus will be on each quarterback’s fantasy points per attempt, because of how well that correlates with fantasy production, and on aFPA for the defenses they face. We will continue to use 60% ownership as our threshold, meaning that our streamers must be available in at least 40% of leagues, before waivers run for the week.

Week 14 QB Streaming Targets

Jameis Winston (TB) vs. New Orleans Saints

It is hard to imagine a more favorable matchup than this one. The Buccaneers have the second-highest implied team total if we look to Vegas, and Jameis Winston faces the most-favorable matchup for opposing QBs. The Saints are giving up a record number of passing TDs this year, and there is no reason to expect them to improve this week. For his part, Jameis Winston is QB11 in fantasy points per attempt, with 0.55 points per throw. Winston has not had a week with fewer than 12 points all year, and he’s facing a fantastic matchup this week. Time to add him.

Winston is available in 60% of Yahoo public leagues, and he is my optimal streamer of the week.
